CTRI Certified PATH Instructor

Starbrite Therapeutic Equestrian Center is nestled in the Piney Woods of East Texas near Lake Tyler and is enthusiastically seeking to hire a full time CTRI certified PATH instructor.

Applicant must have the maturity and knowledge to safely and effectively teach basic riding skills to riders with disabilities. Also must be willing to support and serve all aspects of the program. Come be a part of an exciting growing facility!

Program Director

Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the overall coordination and management of all program components – riders/participants, volunteers, horses, and facilities.

Responsibilities include program development and implementation; all aspects of quality assurance; program outreach and collaboration building; identifying and implementing innovative program populations and services; program-related budget planning and implementation; establish Starbrite in a visible role within PATH International and promote Starbrite as a leader in the field of therapeutic riding and services, managing therapeutic riding instruction according to PATH standards and Starbrite guidelines, with the utmost attention given to safety; maintaining current participant documentation; ensuring safety and innovation in lessons.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing, and coordinating a variety of administrative duties and tasks for the Executive Director, and Board of Directors.

Therapeutic Riding Instructor

Responsibilities: Responsible for providing therapeutic horsemanship instruction according to PATH Intl. and CTRC guidelines with the utmost attention given to maintaining participant, volunteer, and equine safety. Teach a full class-load during session, and other duties/special projects to be assigned by Head Instructor or during session breaks (e.g. completing all participant documentation post/pre-session, special administrative projects for participants and/or volunteers, annual horse show preparations, assist with organizing tack room, updating Program Operations manual, organize educational presentations, cleaning and reorganizing helmets, organizing and updating arena props and games and sensory trail improvements, help organize saddle fittings, managing participant files).

Must have a minimum of the PATH Intl. CTRI certification. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing, and coordinating a variety of administrative duties and tasks for the Executive Director, and Board of Directors.

Scheduling: Up to 5 days per week, Monday-Saturday. Days and hours needed may vary during session breaks. All hours must be worked on site. Vacations should be scheduled outside class sessions (minimal exceptions can be pre-approved provided another staff member can teach).
