PATH Certified Instructor
She grew up in Texas where her first horse experiences were riding her Mustang bareback around the backyard and country. In college, she rode hunt seat and participated in IHSA via Virginia Intermont College and their equine program. However, when she graduated from college she moved abroad and then to NYC – where horses were rare and expensive!!
A move to Boston gave her an intro to volunteering and new riding options. She volunteered her marketing expertise for a program called ‘City to Saddle.org’ – giving young urban children the ability to go out to the country and experience the life lessons that horses bring. While in New England, she rode often and had the privilege of owning a big Warmblood gelding and training with several international Dressage trainers. This horse taught her to be patient, strong and took her out of her comfort zone! She wants another horse (but one that is not 17.1 hands)!
She returned to NYC and began volunteering with ‘GallopNYC.org’ – an organization serving hundreds of city children and adults with special needs. Logging volunteer hours, she commuted out to the Queens barn and assisted with caring for the horses, preparing riders, assisting the PATH and Hippotherapy instructors and doing chores throughout the facility.
Andrea is happy to be back in the land of “Don’t Mess with Texas”, near her family and her new adventure teaching with Starbrite! In its essence, Starbrite harnesses Andrea’s love of helping people through involvement with horses.

Howdy! My name is Hallye Reed and I have been working with horses for a little over 5 years, but I have enjoyed riding since I was a child! I am very passionate about my faith, and I am so excited to begin working with yet another program that incorporates faith and horses to help others.
I am currently working toward earning my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling so I can one day become a Licensed Professional Counselor who uses horses to help children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with mental health-related problems. I am so excited to be a part of the Starbrite team!
